February 27th was Gabriel's 1st Birthday!
He woke up, and did as he always does; went running into the living room! We had his gift wrapped and sitting on the table, knowing he'd get it and start to tear into the paper. Sure enough, he had fun and is enjoying some outside toys for a sandbox that we don't have...but there is gravel in our compound, so that will work just fine!
In the evening some dear friends of ours came with their 2 children for dinner and blessed us deeply with sweet fellowship, encouragement, and a gift for Gabriel that they'd brought back from the States while there.
On Saturday Gabriel had his 1st birthday party, it was a very lovely day, the house was full of young children, and we all had fun! After all the 'bigger' kids had gone home, and the youngest 2 remained, we had a 'pool party'! We hauled out washing basins with water, put them on the front porch where Pendo, Maxwell & Gabriel had a GREAT time splashing and chilling in the water!
From some gifts his friends brought, we took a walk to Quality Supermarket and bought a ride on car & building blocks for Gabriel, somethings I'd been eyeing up for quite some time! Needless to say, Gabriel is having so much fun riding his new car and stacking the blocks! What a huge blessing, I am so excited just for Gabriel. He is so loved by our friends, the Lord has given us a wonderful 'friend family!'
Sunday night Sam; a dear friend of ours, and a regular 'visitor' came for dinner and a visit; we love having him over and Gabriel likes to play with him too~
There are still birthday cupcakes remaining....do you want to come for a visit and have one?!
The decorations are still hanging up, and we'll celebrate for a few more days!
