In the morning we'll be headed in a coaster to Jinja to finish the prep work, set-up sound and just get ready for this exciting event! Thankfully, a shop keeper in Jinja opened his business up to us free of charge and so all of our costs have been greatly minimized helping all of us out!!
Irene Ntale is a very sweet and talented musician here in Kampala, and I recently did a photoshoot of her; and so to help her get more publicized in her music career, we've been featuring her in several events we've done in the last year. She is a lovely girl, quiet and shy-ish, but when she starts strumming on her guitar and sounds come from her mouth...her God given talent is a huge blessing to all!
Richy is like our little brother. Richy just recently was involved in writing and singing the 50 year Jubilee Song, for Uganda's 50th Independence Birthday, just this past week on Oct 9th. Richy is also greatly gifted with a gorgeous voice and reminds me of my brother Henk back home! He's tall, broad, and is just a comic book! He's fun to be around and brings joy wherever he goes! As for the other musicians in Jinja that we'll be meeting up with when we get there, I don't know them, but we are thankful for their spirit to help out our event!
Jinja is a very gorgeous place to be, along the banks of the River Nile, and is a nice small town....full of white people! So, we are really hoping to get a big crowd of white people at our event, and just help Suzan and Otim, our friends to get more connected to their community, as well as form contacts with them!
