Heart to hearts over Skip-bo

Yesterday was a great day! It was Boxing Day and Trophimus was to have a gig, but somehow that didn't happen, so it was great having him home, though he was in Studio most of the day doing recordings. Later in the afternoon; Trophi & Sam, a friend of ours came in and were just chilling out of the hot sun...though the house wasn't much cooler! We got into some great discussions about the Holy Spirit, how to discern spiritual gifts, what a pastor's role is and how it's a 2-fold calling; it was great time of conversing in & about the Word. As dinner came along, we munched on finger foods as we discussed what often seem to be 'grey area's in scripture. Is a Tattoo wrong, what about piercings? Dreams & interpretation were discussed. After some more discussion, we played a game of Skip-bo, and were again back to Biblical discussion. All in all, it  was truly a precious time; sharing and discussing the Word & how it is to be living & active in our lives, not just dormant & stale.

As I was doing devotions this morning, I came across Romans 12:1-2; which seemed to answer alot of what we had discussed last night, I was so blessed!

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice,[a]acceptable to God, which is your [b]spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this [c]world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may [d]prove what the will of God is, that which is good and[e]acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12:1-2

As Trophi & I take time to mentor young friends of ours, please pray with us that we'd have wisdom and discernment; that the Holy Spirit would guide us and our words would be nothing less than God honouring. We had a very lovely time with Sam, and as he searches the scriptures to see what is true, and honourable, it is our prayer for us 3, that we would live Christlike lives (1 Corinthians 11:1), above reproach and serving & loving the Lord in each and everything we do. 

1 Timothy 3:2

2 [a]An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable,able to teach.

Titus 1:6-7

6 if a man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of dissipation or insubordination.7 For a bishop[a] must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money.
