One extreme to another

This week random torrential rains have slowed all outdoor work and transportation to a complete halt. When it rains here it POURS! That sayin is often used in Canada, but really...Canadians have no idea what pouring rain is! When it rains hard in Canada, thats comparable to just more than a drizzle here. Within minutes the streets are flooded, and you can be standing in up to 6 inches of water.
After about an hour or two of torrential rains, the sun once again peeks through the clouds, drying up the rain, mud and soon again dust appears, swirling around as you pass down the street. It's rather amusing how such drastic change happens so quickly. If there is no rain, you're sure to find dust covering your feet, clothes and in your hair; in fact, i've never been anywhere else where when I wash my hair, the water that runs out along with the suds is truly brown. Even when I worked at the greenhouse and I was in the potting area, my hair didn't get this dirty, it's rather interesting. When you take a shower, it's not merely to freshen up, it's truly to clean off the clinging dust!
